Ancient Brown - Ottchil series, is a work that applies a 2 000 years old traditional Korean lacquer technique called Ottchil, applied on acrylic, the lacquer tree sap reveals a brown color that, overtime, becomes clearer and deeper.

Rahee Yoon, Seoul-based artist and designer founded her studio in 2017. Having majored in extensive crafts of metalwork, textile, ceramics and woodworking, her works are essentially an experiment with nature of various materials.

Yoon has been working for over 8 years on in-depth research into her preferred material, acrylic, in which she blends the raw characteristics of the materials she chooses to transcend, resulting in erratic yet direct images.

All of her works and interpretations are created from her own hands. They become highly aesthetic objet d’arts through close collaborations with special engineers in Seoul and small workshops across Korea.
