Over Dust is a project presented by Atsushi Shindo at Escorter Aoyama as part of the Designart Gallery spacial design for Designart Tokyo 2023 from October 20th to October 29th, 2023.

The project aims to make new value and surprises that go beyond waste through the use of acrylic dividers as architectural elements. Those acrylic dividers sourced from various businesses were gathered and cleaned before being used to construct the venue's framework in three distinct phases.

In the first step, acrylic separators are stacked. In the second step, they are subjected to a laser-cutting treatment before being assembled into an installation. The last step involves upcycling the broken acrylic dividers by shaping them into fixture tabletops with new surfaces and finishes.

Massively used during the Covid 19 pandemic to keep people appart, acrylic dividers have been used in this project to bring people back together.

The use of this ubiquitous and highly used material has inspired the project but also a long term project aimed at breathing new life into previously neglected areas through the creative use of discarded materials in locations such as offices, stores and other commercial establishments.
