Willem Wouters, a Belgian architect by training, creates art objects in resin. Years spent experimenting with the technical properties of the material to transform his creative ideas into reality have resulted in a unique production process.
Approaching his work with an architectural approach, shapes, textures and colors, Wouters allows his works to release different images through the reflection of light.
A contrast is created between the transparent geometric form and the organic textured void, which appears to have been sculpted. He expresses a sculptural sensibility that reinvents the balance between solid and void, opaque and transparent, interior and exterior.
The artist uses resin exclusively for his creations, reflecting his minimalist approach in concept as well as materials, and giving rise to unique handmade pieces.
