Designed and built by italian architect Simone Picano, ‘Senza Capo’ is a low table made of solid black walnut. The piece is born from a very simple geometric intuition transmitted by a clear and precise shape.
The minimal intervention of subtraction generates an unexpected force and at the same time gives lightness. An extremely elementary construction where the curves embrace the straight lines with extreme elegance. Shadows and light accentuate its perception by highlighting the different surfaces and qualities of the material.
Simone studied architecture in Rome, has worked in Europe, Africa, Asia and he is currently based between Italy and France. Fascinated by practical investigation through the use of wood, Simone designs and makes objects with great freedom of expression with no intermediaries, making each stage a highly personal process.
