Titan is a furniture collection in limited edition of 8, born of the encounter between nature and science fiction, the deep past and the near future, imagined by Batten and Kamp, a collaborative art and design practice.

For this collection, the New Zealand-born, Paris-based couple draw inspiration from their memories of New Zealand rivers, black sand beaches and dreams of distant worlds.

The first two works presented from this collection are two lounge chairs, one black, the other white, inviting calm and contemplation. They are made of recycled synthetic plastic panels anchored by 3D-printed stainless steel on million-year-old natural rocks.

The inspirations behind this collection are interwoven, from Ridley Scott to Noguchi to the imaginary of these pieces sitting on the surface of a distant celestial body, gazing longingly at the earth. It undoubtedly responds to a physical and spiritual need to put down roots, to connect with the earth.
