Ciguë is creating % Arabica's new address on Avenue M in the heart of Marrakech's upscale neighborhoods, blending the codes of the Japanese coffee brand with the cultural and constructive codes of Morocco.
Chemex glassware cascades down to feed the fountain, while the adobe seats and counter are inspired by the remains of the 16th-century Saadian El Badi Palace, all set around a traditional glazed bejmat earthenware floor.
Since its creation in 2003, Ciguë has worked with the desire to reconnect architecture with the act of making, an idea that takes on its full meaning in this project, a skilful blend between architecture and the use of a place, combining the identity and history of % Arabica with Moroccan materials and know-how.
