Based on the work of flowers and resin, the Flora creations reflect a desire to preserve the perishable beauty of botanical matter, here declined in two tables combining resin and bronze.
This material is the result of years of research motivated by an unquenchable interest in natural aesthetics and the significance of materials. The process of creating each piece is painstaking, as everything is done by hand, from collecting and processing the flowers to finishing the resin. Each piece is composed like a painting, with each flower chosen for its sculptural qualities, color and symbolic meaning.
For the artist, the organic shapes and partially matt surfaces of these two sculptural tables act as a kind of portal to the fascinating realm of nature. Their shapes were inspired by large, flat stone slabs found in the Solina riverbed in southern Poland.
The color of the resin chosen for the project, dark green and rusty reddish brown, underscores the floral compositions, which resemble dark ponds with swirls of water that invite the viewer to plunge into the alchemy of the materials.
