Some Place Studio conceptualizes Original feelings Yoga Studio, a 300m2 yoga studio located in Berlin, Germany, based on the idea of flow, a term used in yoga practice to describe a sense of fluid movement and meditation.
These ideas are manifested in the fluid transitions between spaces and the extensive use of malleable materials such as fabrics and hemp concrete. The entrance opens onto a large reception area with a central desk that doubles as a bar. A reconfigurable sofa follows the gentle curve of a large screen that acts as a space divider.
The color palette is understated, emphasizing materiality and texture, in collaboration with two emerging artists. The reception desk and water fountain were created in collaboration with designer Yasmin Bawa, using a custom process of hemp concrete structure finished with pigmented lime plaster to create the surface textures. The large privacy screen separating the lounge from the changing rooms was painted by young Viennese artist Denise Rudolf Frank.
