Initiated by artist Kristiane Kegelmann, Pars is a Berlin restaurant that doubles as an art gallery, café and praline store during the day, as well as a venue for special events and culinary pop ups organized by international chefs.

The architecture, like the food served, is refined, minimalist and focused on the essentials. To realize the project, an all-female team of architects and lighting designers worked collaboratively to infuse the space with new functions and forms, while retaining elements such as the parquet floors and decorative plasterwork of the previous tenant, the legendary Café Savigny.

The focal point of the new restaurant is an open kitchen that makes the food preparation process an integral part of the dining experience. A mirrored central column visually links all the rooms, allowing unexpected views. The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms, the first of which is rather classical, inviting guests to convivial dinners, and the second for more intimate evenings with smaller tables. The choice of materials oscillates between the natural and the artificial, the tactile and the hard, the traditional and the progressive.

On the walls of the dining rooms, antique-looking plaster casts created by the Royal Prussian Porcelain Manufactory from the former Café Savigny are displayed, contrasting with contemporary works by Sarah Loibl, Hannah Sophie Dunkelberg, Pujan Shakupa, Malte Bartsch, Felix Weppen and Thomas Platt.
